It is for me an exercise, to write in English.
About the links, it is always interesting to have more information about the elusive "khaki".

I also have Churchill´s book, and I like a lot his writting. White clothes appears to be the most common of them!Juan Mancheñohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07761893327024556857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-524687988228302815.post-70991361449574110622013-09-01T11:22:54.302+02:002013-09-01T11:22:54.302+02:00Forget to mention, did you see the news in LAF for...Forget to mention, did you see the news in LAF forum concerning Renedra bringing out a generic "Middle Eastern" in plastic,
http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=57663.msg686122#msg686122
Looks quite a useful buildingmoonshadowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11372089125688050755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-524687988228302815.post-74072543975461185852013-09-01T10:03:28.306+02:002013-09-01T10:03:28.306+02:00Upto your usual high standards, very well written ...Upto your usual high standards, very well written and very informative. It amazes me how you can write so well in a language that is not your native tongue.
Came across the following site;-
https://www.facebook.com/pages/British-Empire-Uniforms-1939-1943/365555366788383
It is a bit later than the period we are interested in, but has some very good colour photos of uniforms, giving a good indication of the various shades of khaki used by British and Empire troops. It also shows some interesting examples of the mixture of uniform items once troops start operating in the colder parts of the tropics.
At the moment I'm rereading Churchill's- " The Story of the Malakand Field Force". Came across a couple of references to the difference in colours of the tribal costumes. The clearest being;-
"Great numbers of Bunerwals now joined the gathering. the garrison were able to distinguish these newcomers from the Swatis, Utman Khels, Mamunds, Salarzais and others, by the black or dark blue clothes they wore"
Elsewhere Churchill refers to the tribesmen of the lower Swat valley(i.e Swatis) wearing white coloured clothes.
moonshadowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11372089125688050755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-524687988228302815.post-24298676060756341542013-08-31T21:04:27.764+02:002013-08-31T21:04:27.764+02:00Good read and history Juan.Good read and history Juan. The Angry Lurkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01227314379603418332noreply@blogger.com
